Our Philosophy

It’s our goal to see families happy and comfortable in their feeding plan!  Whether your goal is to latch, pump, a combination of both and even incorporate formula – we believe a healthy feeding plan can be found down many avenues.  Not sure what you want? Having worked in the hospital for many years, we have seen the importance of prenatal education for confidence and success in the first few days of breastfeeding.  Knowledge is power and coming in equipped with the knowledge of what to expect in the first few days brings calmness and confidence to the start of your feeding journey.  Sometimes plans need to change based on reevaluation of your goals, family dynamics, and medical status of parent or baby.  Pivoting is a part of life, and especially parenthood! We believe that continued lactation support is essential for developing a plan, sticking to it or pivoting when necessary.  We want to be a collaborative member of your team.  We look forward to meeting you wherever you are in your feeding journey. As they say, it takes a village!

Providers

Rebecca, BSN, RN, IBCLC

Hey, I’m Rebecca! I was born and raised in NY but currently live in New Jersey.  I have a huge passion for healthcare education, specifically breastfeeding and postpartum care.  I have worked inpatient as a postpartum nurse as well as a lactation consultant.  While working as a lactation consultant I have assisted families who are postpartum, readmitted on the pediatric unit, visiting for their follow up at the outpatient clinic or unfortunately those parents who have to be admitted for higher level of care.  This experience has allowed me to witness a variety of breastfeeding journeys.  I believe it is so important to support the short and long term goals of a family.  I would love to work with you from prenatal to weaning and everything in between!

Maura, BSN, RN, RNC-MNN, IBCLC

Hey, I’m Maura! Born and raised in Boston, MA living in the warmer city of Raleigh, NC.  I am a postpartum nurse, lactation consultant and mom.  I knew as soon as I starting working in postpartum I would never leave the specialty! I love the education that’s involved in my work and found that most of the information families were looking for surrounded feeding their baby! I became certified in maternal newborn nursing and eventually made the switch to lactation consultant. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing my families become more confident in their abilities as parents….unless we’re talking about mint chocolate chip ice cream, that brings me a lot of joy:) I believe a healthy and successful feeding plan can look different to different people.  My goal is to work collaboratively with parents to find a feeding plan that works for them and baby.  I bring humor, personal anecdotes, and food analogies to my consults and can’t wait to work with you!
